Fast Food and Photos

Today we took Thomas to JC Penny to get his 3 month pictures done. What an experience. He was happy as a clam all day and before we got there, and I swear the second she held up the camera he started to scream. He didn't want to sit in any of the positions she put him in, and it was not the greatest experience. We still got a few decent pictures because, let's face it, he's pretty darn cute.

I have always decided I have SO much respect for people who work in fast food and do the drive thru section. They have so many different tasks to do all at once! They take orders, take the money, hand the food, and somehow manage to great everyone. I think it is pretty incredible that they can remember who goes with what and who is paying what. Even though people don't think working in a fast food restaurant is hard, I don't think I could do the drive through! So hats off to anyone who has ever worked in fast food at the drive through station. I admire you.

Computers Computers Computers

I only work Tuesday and Thursday now that Thomas has set babysitters and I don't have to take him into work. It is so nice becauses I don't feel guilty about leaving him, and I don't feel guilty about not going into work. Now I have three days with him at home and two days at work! It is great! Since I only work two days a week, I have a lot to do in those two days. So, conveniently, my computer at work decided to have a heart attack on Thursday. Sadly, it died. So I am at work, stuck with no computer, so my dad and I head to staples to get a new one. This was all fun and good until I realized that I had to put everything back on my computer that was on the other one!!! AH! So that ended up taking the rest of the day, and I pretty much got nothing done. Good day.

Friday, Gabe, Thomas and I set out for Spokane to set up a new career school office for my dad. We have done this twice before in Coeur d'alene and Lewiston, so we are pros. We got to Spokane Friday night and headed to the new office on Saturday. After about 30 minutes of putting desks together, we realize it is getting a little warm. We started looking for the air conditioning switch. It said it was on, so we went to the breaker box and flipped some switches, still nothing. Long story short, we went and got a fan and let Thomas lay in front of it only in his diaper. By the end of the day our office had reached about 90 degrees. This made putting together 11 desks, 11 chairs, and 9 computers not very enjoyable. It was pretty funny though because we both ended the day in very little clothes because we were in the privacy of an office, and we were sweating to death! We thought if someone saw us what would they think! haha. We did some shopping and then went to sleep. Sunday morning we finished up at the office before it got too hot and started home. When we stopped for gas, Gabe and I were getting back on the freeway and I said, "Gabe, you are going the wrong way, we need to turn right." and he said, "No, I am driving." and he turned left. About an hour later he realized we were heading towards seattle! So, after a short fight and a lecture on how he should ALWAYS listen to his wife, we turned around and back tracked. We are finally home and done with the trip! It will be worth it for the paycheck but it sure wasn't that much fun! So, this week I had a bad reaction with anything dealing with computers!

Back again

I think it’s time to blog again. Our little family has been busy busy busy for the last month! We went on a vacation with my dad, Tracy and my brother to Utah, Nevada and Arizona. Everyone was on motorcycles but me… It was a long trip, but fun. Thomas was very good the first and last day, but in between he was just mad. He did not enjoy being in his car seat all day. After we got back from our trip, we went up to McCall with Gabe’s family. Some of Gabe’s Dutch cousins were in town, and all in all we had 23 people staying at the cabin! It was crowded but tons of fun! The more the merrier with Gabe’s family!
Our little chunky monkey is now about 13 pounds!!! He is in the 75th percentile with height and weight. I am glad he has 75th in both, it wouldn’t be as great if it was just weight! J He is getting happier by the day and is the light of our life!
Deep thought… It’s interesting how there are some people that you don’t have to love, you do, and others that you are suppose to love, you don’t. For example, relatives. I am very frustrated with some people on my Mom’s side of the family. We have hardly heard a peep from them since Gabe and I got married, but this wasn’t so surprising since we had hardly heard from them in my lifetime. Now that my mom isn’t here, we figured they would either try and stay in touch because she was gone, or lose touch completely. My mom’s mom, my Nana, but I call her Kay, is a little crazy. She was never really nice to my mom ever, and the more stories I hear about her, the more I dislike her. I do not know how my mom turned out as wonderful and Godly as she did. I sent all my mom’s side of the family a baby announcement when Thomas was born. I’ll admit, I did think this would raise a few eyebrows, and be a reason for them to contact me. The only person that did was my mom’s favorite aunt, which turned out really great because we got back in touch. Kay did something strange, she called my grandma (dad’s mom). She asked her what was this about me having a baby. My grandma talked to her a little bit, and then told her he was adopted. Kay simply said oh, they didn’t wait long enough. So, that made me mad, but then I figured I would hear from her. Nothin. I feel like I am suppose to love her because she is my relative and because God says to, but it is very difficult. I guess all I can do is pray for her.
This coming weekend Gabe, Tom Tom and I are headed to Spokane to set up one of my dad’s school locations. We are becoming professionals at putting computer desks together and getting the computers going. This will be the first time we have done this with Thomas, but it should be fun! The next weekend Gabe is going deep sea fishing with my dad, brother, and Tracy’s son Nate. I will be all by my lonesome with Thomas.
